A is for Asset Register which is one of the most important components of our CMMS system Asset Insight Manager (AIM)
In it’s simplest form an asset register is a detailed list compiled of all your business assets, this varies from business to business but for some of our clients this list is a register of all the critical assets needed for the production of their wares, for example pumps, conveyors, storage tanks and even mobile access equipment.
The importance of knowing what assets you have and where cannot be underestimated, particularly in a multi site organisation, pair this with AIM’s asset history feature and you have a complete picture of the age, cost and condition of each asset.
You have a full history of maintenance and repairs carried out on every asset, you can also combine with condition based monitoring (more on that in the C portion of this alphabet) allowing you to track recurring faults, identify any problematic assets and plan future maintenance and repairs to limit any asset downtime.
